Seven Pillars of Wisdom

Personal development is one of the non transferable responsibility of life. You can not blame any other person for how to turn out in life. You are responsible for your own destiny.

In my last article on seven consequences of ignorance, I stated clearly the reason why it is important to seek knowledge and what befalls a man as a result of ignorance.

Now, I want to state clearly the seven Pillars of Wisdom. Of course, Wisdom as often said is the application of Knowledge. I agree strongly until you apply what you know, you are not wise.
Wisdom is the principal thing. Get understanding and knowledge and be wise.

Proverbs 8:33-36.
33Listen to my instruction and be wise;

do not disregard it.
34Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
35For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
36But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.” NIV

1.     Instructions
Another word is Training or Correction. According to Proverbs 8:33-36, no man submit to corrections and remain the same. The more you listen and obey instruction, the more you become wiser.

Proverbs 4:1
Listen, my sons, to the instruction of a father; pay attention and gain understanding.

2.     Association
This has to do with who you walk with. Do not be yoked by unbelievers. In Proverbs 13:20 "Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble", fools don’t always destroy themselves but also destroy people with them. A man who stays with the wise will become wise but if after staying with the wise, he is not wise then there is a wrong attitude.

“Bad Communication Corrupt Good Manner”.

3.     Medidation

Meditation simply is brooding or pondering on what you have been taught. Joshua 1: 8 tells us meditating on the Word of God brings success your way. You should understand that how you get success depends on how you react to success. Joshua 1:8" Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do".

When your reaction to success is based on Wisdom, you will definitely achieve success. Now when I say based on Wisdom, I mean the ability to go through knowledge or the Principles of Success and also apply them. So, you are on your way to success.

4.     Information.

This is seeking knowledge, the hunger for truth and knowledge. How do you get information? Listening to tapes, video messages, Reading books, getting articles related to you field and so on. This reminds me of my previous article on how to grasp God’s Word. Information is one of the Pillars of Wisdom and very important in our daily life routine.

5.     Devotion

Devotion is simply having some quiet time with God. God is the backbone of Wisdom, so you can’t have a stable devotional life and not be wise.

Devotion is actually a way of communion with God. It’s also another you can know God and the Power of His resurrection.

6.     Meekness

       Proverbs 19:20
Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.

This is an attitude for learning. Meekness is a way of bringing yourself under authority to learn and acquire knowledge. Sometimes, we are full of ourselves thinking we are unteachable and therefore we can’t have wisdom being unteachable. Learning is a process and doesn’t matter who teaches you. Be ready to listen.

7.     Principles & Values

What are Principles?
Principles are laid down rules to a problem. The Bible calls it Righteousness. The foundation of Wisdom in the Bible is Fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. NIV

The key that unlocks Wisdom is Principle. When a man fear God, He respects Principles. When you fear God, live righteously by His Grace, His Wisdom to handle situation even during the worst moment will be given to you.

The stated Pillars of Wisdom are laid down Principles you must abide if you want. Follow these Principles and see yourself a wise man.

10 Principles of Success: From The Life of Steve Jobs

Though Steve Jobs has passed away, his legacy will be with us forever. Steve was undoubtedly a very successful entrepreneur. Here are ten life lessons about success that we can learn from him: 1. Learn how to anticipate the future Steve Jobs once quoted Wayne Gretzky, saying:     “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.” Steve Jobs has been a living proof of this quote all of his life. Apple has reaped the benefits from Steve’s ability to anticipate future trends. They dominated the digital music sales (shrinking the market of CD music sales), while the iPhone has also revolutionized the phone industry by introducing a very sophisticated touch screen based phone. The ability to anticipate the future is very important if you want to achieve your goal and be successful. An example of how we can apply this to our life is by visioning what we want to be in one year (or five years, ten years, and so on) from now. By having the vision, we can antici...

The One Thing That Command God's Blessing Fast

We all need God's Blessing like never before, the one thing that commands it is ABSOLUTE SURRENDER. Absolute surrender is giving all things to  Him. Surrendering your all might look foolish to the world but to God, He needs it to perfect His work in your life. Your body is the temple of God but if you don't present the body a living sacrifice, God cannot make use of it. That is to show you the extent He can go when you don't surrender all to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 " Cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" God is actually calling us and guess what? He is right beside us everyday second. Our ignorance and unbelief has put us far from his call. God Expects Your Surrender Yes. It has its foundation in the very nature of God. God cannot do otherwise. Who is God? He is the fountain of life, the only source of our existence and power and goodness, and throughout the universe there is nothing good but what God works. God is life and love and blessing and...

How to Know God: (3 Powerful Ways)

As Christians we are seeking to know God, but in what way or to what degree? “He made His ways known to Moses; His acts, to the children of Israel.” -Psalm 103:7     God’s ways are different from His acts. His acts are His activities; His ways are the principles by which He acts. The children of Israel knew only His acts, but Moses knew His ways (Psa. 103:7). Hebrews 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. Hebrews Three Ways of Knowing God     According to His acts     According to His principles     According to His being We all start out only knowing God’s acts. These are the most apparent of the three and fit in with the most basic concept of God- He’s the Sovereign, calls the shots, rules the universe and yet is somehow privy to our needs. We ask for something and He acquiesces. I have a job interview and pray that God ...
